Discussion with a former prisoner and solidarity groups
Over the past two and a half years, we have supported five imprisoned anti-fascists from Jena. Currently, four of them are still in prison. In addition, there are numerous imprisoned comrades from other cities with whom we also stand in solidarity. Solidarity work constantly presents us with challenges. How do we ensure effective communication? How do we facilitate cooperation among prisoners, supporters, families, and lawyers? To what extent is our solidarity work political versus social work? How can we work together - from inside and outside - to strengthen the prisoners’ resistance against the prison system?
On 06.08.2026 we will be hosting visitors from Berlin. Thomas, who was released in May after a year and a half in pretrial detention, and a comrade from the Nanuk solidarity group want to talk to us about their experiences, from their respective perspectives inside and outside. We are looking forward to an exciting discussion!
We will open the space at 6 PM. Drinks and snacks will be provided. The discussion begins at 6:30 PM.
